The Boy Who Taught the Beekeeper to Read
by Susan Hill (ISBN 0 09 945895 0)

I purchased this slim volume not simply for its title, but also because on this particular paperback edition the cover showed a bell-jar full of honeycomb, and, at the top, two perfect... wasps!  If the blurb at the back was to be believed, the contents would belie this illustration blunder.  I was surely going to read something about a beekeeper?  However, how many times have we been warned about judging a book by its cover?  The first chapter mentions a swarm (in August).

That's it.  Nothing else about beekeeping.

I'm not saying it's a bad book or anything, simply that it wasn't what I expected.

It's not just covers we must mistrust, titles can also be misleading...
