April’s 2nd Monday Meeting – “Nice things come from small boxes”
April 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
April’s 2nd Monday Meeting
The April meeting will be held on Zoom on 12th April. As a result of the great attendance that we enjoyed at the March meeting three Breakout Rooms will again be utilised prior to the main event. The programme for the evening is:
The meeting opens with Breakout Rooms hosted by Carolyn Kramer linked to the Winter Bee School, Douglas Nethercleft linked to the Monday evening training evenings last summer, and as David Blower will be occupied with the opening evening of our “Introduction to Beekeeping” course, I will host the third Room linked to the Thursday evening training evenings. Do remember however that anybody is encouraged to join any of these groups irrespective of your being directly involved in the activities.
Carolyn will hold the April 100 Club drawer
I am delighted to advise that we will be joined by Master Beekeeper Dave Bonner. Dave will be known to many of you as one of the country’s leading beekeepers and you may well have listened to some of his lectures in the past. Dave has titled his presentation “Nice things come from small boxes”. He will cover the different kinds/sizes of Nucs and talk how each one can be useful. He will than go into the different uses of a Nuc and will focus on two areas, swarm control and creating Nucs.
Following on from Dave’s talk the hosts of the three Breakout Rooms will present the main questions that were posed in their room and the conclusions that were drawn so that all present can comment on, or query, the topics.
I know that we all will enjoy and learn much from Dave Bonner’s presentation so encourage all members to participate in this exceptional meeting.
The Zoom login details are available in the Members Area Home Page.
