      Steve Bates gave permission to show his close up video of activity at the hive entrance.

      Much can be learnt from this, and it is easier to identify pollen colour and source from video or still photography.
      in this video you will see at least two different yellows – – – possibly rape and dandelion.
      For the technically aware Steve used a GoPro camera with a monopod stand.
      But good images can be obtained with a telephoto or macro lens.

      but there are others!
